VISIONARY INDIE DEV SAVES VIDEOGAMES

In some ways I see what they're getting at, although it does make them pretty pretentious for it.

Basically they wanted people to show they were willing to pay for a game that embraces qualities that they personally think video games need to rediscover as a medium and the fact people didn't is an insult to the stuff we grew up with in the 90s, when video games were still "good".

This one is specifically about 1 guy that has the ego of Phil Fish but none of the creative ideas or bad attitude to go with it.
He's like store brand unbuttered white bread but expected to be treated like restaurant quality garlic bread, and thus decided to piss, moan, and double down on his lack of ideas by making yet another roguelite twinstick shooter.
He quit his job for this. Fucking idiot.

Deltarune threads probably, but the existence of bog standard 2D pixel to some invalidates other indie games as a whole. So it's also just optimal shitpost fuel to claim everygame is Nidhogg 1 (simplistic pixel slop) or Nidhogg 2 ('woke'/ugly pixel art), as an example of a false dichotomy, when that's not even a notable fraction at this point.

There are more indie games than NES + SNES games combined now, not everything is a Vania/Tale clone. Those are just saturated genres that capitalized on said games to begin with. We're at the point where we're getting even more Throwback-FPS games, 3D action/Souls games, Tony Hawk clones and so on.

Indie is antithetical to, "there's nothing 'new' to play" fags, because there's quite literally something new every month now, maybe even every week.

Yeah, and Palworld is just a FOTM game, that is still talked about nearly TWO YEARS after release. Retard, people are still replaying Castle Crashers and Isaac. People still probably replay Undertale in anticipation for Deltarune, Dream BBQ's discussion came and went and that's healthy. What isn't healthy is having spam last longer than the content would justify, leading into /vg/ autism.

Zagawee, a Zoomer who quit his job to make games, thought he could achieve success without marketing or talking much about his game. Then fucked up and blame the industry/algorithm about how he failed.

Frankly, his first game, Garbanzo Quest IS fun and I really liked it, he is now making a roguelike called Super Debt and ngl, it looks a bit shit, he seems to think by just slapping a roguelike tag will help him sell more units.

I respond
>some but not all
and your retort was-
>WELL it's being "Normalized"
Which is niggerlicious in two areas. 1). performative, subversive games, are again the standard. You can't be subversive when the mainstream are doing what you're doing, meaning your conforming, not subversing.
And 2). You never list examples, and the ones that come to mind are like a handful in a sea of thousands of games in dozens of different genres.

All you can do is say is, "missing the point" and when you aren't you won't iterate or go further like we should just get it, which is autistic.

It's also easy as fuck to go into gamemaker/rpgmaker and make an earthbound clone in general, still compared to EVERY indie out there, it not the majority. Palworld, Spark the Jester, Fight Knight and things of that nature aren't sending a message on anything, I'm sure you can pull up Gone Home, Undertale, Lisa and say "yup, that's indie as a whole" in 2015, but now most devs have access to Godot, Unity, UE and other shit.

Risk of Rain, Isaac, Minecraft, Palworld, Terraria might vary in [genreslop] but they aren't making a statement and are also influential. If there's an oversaturation in Indie, I'd rank it H-games/VNs > walking sims > Gamemaker RPGs.

After seeing how the videogame industry is by threads on /pol/ I think we can all safely agree that is a jewish leed kerfuffle, used to demoralize young White males, but the other, final red pill about videogames is that they will never be as good as other forms of media due to its own reiterative nature and the world wouldn't change too much in its absence. You need to find a better hobby, NOW
