>>714973389 (OP)drm free microslop? heck yeah
Microsoft isn't going to put in the effort to port a 20 year old 360 exclusive to PC, and GOG isn't going to fund that either. Stop being retarded
Fable 2 is the most feature rich game in the series. Although it still feels a bit Half-Baked. But there weren't many games like it at the time
>>714973389 (OP)what a stupid poll. lmao. most of these games are impossible to bring to PC.
>>714973389 (OP)Already did ages ago. Doubt it's actually going to happen though, I'll probably end up playing it on an emulator.
>>714973739I mean if all else fails you can do a total engine rewrite. Not sure if any have been done for a game this "modern" though
>>714973793it's not about the engine you idiot. they need a fucking right to be able to port the game which is almost impossible to acquire when it's that old. getting a permission to publish a game that's long forgotten is the hardest part, it's literally a nightmare.
Wake me up when they port the darkness to pc
>>714973389 (OP)Is it as good as fable 1?
>>714974329imo its the best of the 3
>>714974219isnt that what they do there?
sell obscure games?
>>714973389 (OP)GOG has a list of basically every PC game ever made and people vote on it. I do think it influences what games they try to get on their service but it doesn't mean anything more than that.
>>714974329Same style of humor, slightly more evolved mechanics in some ways. Regressive in almost as many others
>>714974329it's much more fleshed out, but the combat is extremely dumbed down and simplified (made worse in fable 3). The best Fable game but maybe a 6.5/10 at best. This series is highly overrated.
>>714974404As far as I know it's led to only one game being added to the store, an old port of breath of fire IV.
>>714973389 (OP)Could happen but Fable's popularity really got damaged by the new game that got canned.
>>714974581>As far as I know it's led to only one game being added to the store, an old port of breath of fire IV.Nah, it's not just one game. It's a lot of games actually. The Dreamlist existed way before its current version. You can see which games were added from the old list.
>>714973389 (OP)Neh, i voted for Digimon World instead
>>714973389 (OP)who cares? fable is dogshit
>>714974885>They cancelled it?Allegedly. They cancelled a ton of games, but I don't think they'll ever make an official announcement, it will just never come out.
>>714973389 (OP)good luck convincing microsoft to hand over the game's code. not happening. this is a pipe dream.
>>714975009it's sovlfull
https://youtu.be/c7Axe5wU33k
>>714973389 (OP)No way man. We definitely need FFVII the most!
>>714973389 (OP)these games were all absolute dogshit for the 360 kids that were too stupid for fucking oblivion
>>714975207they got the rights for all the other games they ported...
>>714974664They haven't confirmed any cancelling of that game, but they really should cancel it
>>714974581nah, the list has been in GOG since day one and I think it's guided a lot of what they have done and how they have chosen to focus. But of course they need to actually get the rights to do the game and bring it into the service.
>>714973389 (OP)i've only voted for one game and it was rumbleverse
been in withdrawal for so long
please come back
>>714973389 (OP)Nothing will ever happen with these old games that people actually want(Freelancer, Motocross Madness, Mechwarrior series, etcetera). GoG just puts "wishlists" on their website just to generate more traffic to their site. GoG's original name Good Old Games is no more.
>>714973389 (OP)Fable 2 is a terrible game and people really don't need to replay it. Just forget it exists entirely with the time skip and shitty mini games.
>>714973389 (OP)Voting for anything that doesn't already have a PC port is just stupid.
>>714974930Same. And the Black & White games.
>>714975802Restoring IP rights takes time, retard. GOG can't just click their heels and magically add every old game to their store.
>>714973389 (OP)Just wait for Microsoft to release their emulator next year
>>714975362>they ported...And all the ones they didn't port?
Release Darkness 1 already you fucking cunts
>>714975921Depends, some older console games could get a remake to PC based on the interest. Depends on how much of the original game was preserved so it can be remade for PC properly. There is also the option for emulation.
>>714976016I shop only from GOG. Would never buy anything directly from Microsfot.
>>714975675it's the ugliest but most fun game in the last 5 years
>>714973389 (OP)they only release games that had pc ports, fable 2 never had one and if microsoft makes one, they'll just release on steam
>>714974404It's not a list of basically every PC game ever made. Anyone can add a game to the list no matter if was on PC or not. See games like Fable of Drakengard being there.
>>714975965People have been wanting Freelancer and similar games since GoG started in 2008. Nothing ever happens. Instead, GoG gives us "Good Old Games" like Theme Hospital, Jazz Jackrabbit, Jill Of The Jungle, and other shitty games that no-one cares about.
>>714975362GOG doesn't port games. GOG buys rights to online distribution, obtains more or less legal version of the game (it was proven time and time again that they redistribute warez versions of games with nfo and cracker/group signature removed), they slap some community patches on top and call it a day. They do not port anything, the ports existed in the first place.
>>714974219Fable isn't a freeware franchise whose rights got lost in some acquisition or other, it's owned by microsoft. And I think microsoft's gaming division would appreciate any kind of new revenue stream at this point.
>>714976849I don't think they'd wanna handle it to some polish people. they'd rather re-release it somehow themselves.
>>714976431Fuck off faggot. JazzJackrabbit 1&2 are great.
>theme hospital badYou're baiting, tight?
>>714973389 (OP)>>714973739There's a reason its called a dreamlist, you can put whatever the fuck you want on it, it doesn't mean anything. Its something to rope in retards like OP to stick around with GOG
>>714976827Funny thing is that GOG games run and Steam games don't . I was so shocked to learn that my copy of Fallout 3 on Steam was busted but my GOG copy was working flawlessly. People that don't like GOG are faggots.
>>714976532Where, since when?
>>714976827How else would they earn money? (lol)
>>714973389 (OP)Isn't that just a suggestion? If M$ says no it won't happen and they rather have games on Gamepass then anywhere else.
>>714977173GOG is fine and it's my primary storefront. People just have delusions of their actual capabilities and the dreamlist.
OP they cat if fable 2 could be ported to PC it would be just to pad out game pass
Fable II is legit the only entry I like. I tried all three multiple times, HATE the stealth parts in 1, HATE the removed content from 3, II is the only one worth playing.

>>714977645The spells and having a Heroes Guild (even if the latter was under utilized) made the first game stick out to me more. I also felt like the characters were more prominent in I despite 2 being focused almost centrally on recruiting Hammer, Garth and Reaver.
>>714973389 (OP)>holy fuck GOG could port fable 2 to pcFable 2 fucking sucks ass, fuck off
>>714977068If GoG offers to handle the PC port themselves I think they might cave
>>714973389 (OP)They won't. This entire community poll is such a sham. They will continue to ignore all the games the people want because most of them have complicated license and rights issue or would require too much work to get working on modern PC's. Also, if Fable 2 was never on PC to begin with, there is no chance it ever will be unless Microsoft themselves do a remaster.
>>714978960there is no PC port Microsoft lost the source code its literally not possible to port it
stop hoping for it it will never happen
>>714978024In their app? Hoped for a list to find games that I could play, but haven't played, yet.
>>714975802The unfortunate truth. Instead of giving us MechWarrior, AvP 2, Black and White, Freelancer, or Battle of Middle Earth we just get Devil May Cry ports and LEGO games that have all already been on Steam for a decade. And then GOG pats themselves on the back pretending they did something.
>>714979212Their website numbnut they don't have an app
>>714973389 (OP)GOG couldn't even be bothered to give away a single free game during their summer sale this year. What makes you think they would be able to do something like this?

>>714979559Thanks. Dreamlist is an excellent name. Just shows they aren't completely stupid. It's ridiculous nevertheless that they struggle against steam.
>>714973389 (OP)https://github.com/Fable2Recomp/Fable2Recomp
>>714973389 (OP)Already voted years ago, although I'm not sure if I'd play it even if it became available. I already played it to death back in the day, and the only reason to replay it is because I have a serious itch for an adventure game where you can own and rent out property. I just want to chop wood and buy houses man.
I have two old memories interacting with Fable:
- Playing Fable 1 on the Xbox. Forgettable. It seemed like my character was instantly 60 years old. The same-sex relationship stuff was a turnoff.
- Watching a friend play Fable 3. His character was a lord holding court or something, listening to propositions for what public projects needed funding. One character was arguing for a school, the other was arguing for a brothel. The player character had an angelic aura and gleaming white skin, from picking the "good" option every time. I remember thinking the whole thing was Manichean, childish, and stupid.
>>714973389 (OP)but the best fable is already on PC
>>714978619I liked that most of the main people it seems you could offend and fight at certain points
You could spot the exact moment Molymeme got bored of developing Fable 2 and just gave it the thumbs-up to release.
seriously felt like it was only reaching midpoint, but nope, that was the end? okay...
>>714979132People have ported shit like ocarina of time without the source code.
>>714981927>The same-sex relationship stuff was a turnoff. Why did you choose to fuck a man?
>>714984379dear god just the "games for windows live" label makes me shiver in disgust
You know, for a site called good old games it's missing a lot of old games. Or much of any at all. And it's only getting more cluttered with unremarkable indie releases and rock bottom WEG.
>>714975586you are an actual fucking idiot. I hope it comes back so you and one Brazilian fag can 1v1 for eternity and stay the fuck out of every other game.
>>714975802>>714979467I'm still reasonably happy that there is at least someone trying to do DRM-free stuff, even if it is games previously on Steam. But it is a shame that they have distanced from the old PC game niche since that void is still unfilled.
>>714974219>it's literally a nightmare.what did she mean by this
>>714984667There's a lot of issues with rights. They had Cryostasis' rights for years and then one day it just disappeared off their service. You can still find the download of the official installer easily but you can't actually buy it from their site at all because their licensing lapsed.
>>714984987i'll gladly accept that fate, stinkface
>>714985260Just finding whoever the fuck actually holds the rights can be a nightmare if the studio is long defunct not to speak of a some form of master copy to apply for modern machines and distribute.
>>714984379>adjustable difficulty levels! That being on the front of the box is a bad sign.
>>714987676Fable having a "III" on the front box is a bad sign.
>>714985260I know, but you'd think they'd be able to get something.
Why is it games dissapear from gog every now and then, anyway? It doesn't seem to be as much of a problem on steam.
>>714988394>Why is it games dissapear from gog every now and then, anyway? It doesn't seem to be as much of a problem on steam.Because GOG is a smaller company and likely has different deals than what Steam gets on licensing. Steam also has stuff constantly leaving their storefront, it's just usually smaller stuff. It happens across all platforms due to the licensing issues not being in perpetuity unless you pay a high fee.
>>714988394Some games have had semblances of DRM and have consequently caused uproar. But that does make me wonder how, say, the GOG version of Dragon's Dogma is since online features are baked into that game even if not I guess wholly necessary.
>>714973389 (OP)no, don't vote for fable 2! it's shit!
>>714988394Steam doesn't actively seek out games to add to their store, so if an old game is on there it's because whoever has the rights wanted to publish it there. GoG on the other hand wants to accumulate old games, so they have to convince the rights holders (if they can find them) to put it in their store.
