In the first game I speedrushed the roads and ziplines, and I pretty quickly trivialized delivering massive groups of packages efficiently. I've been thinking a little differently these days though, and now in DS2 I've been really trying to play comfier and avoid just cheesing everything with the van. I think I appreciate the atmosphere.

It was really crazy going to the AZ/Mexico Sonoran Desert landscape, it literally looks just like back in AZ and made me kind of nostalgic for Tucson/Phoenix and those mountains like the Catalinas and Superstitions.

I'm very close to replaying the 1st even though I just finished the 2nd.

Honestly there's so much divisve stuff in the 2nd story wise that I don't think they'll be much good discussion for a while. I also think there's a lot more going on under the surface with it like MGS V.

Off the top of my head, using the camera in your room after the end of the game, you'll take the pic of the girls & when you exit back to your room there's an animation of what looks like Sam snapping awake from a dream. Also rejecting Fragile in the start of the game puts you in an odd loop of the camera going to the pics on the wall in Sam's bunker & back to the dialogue choice until there's no option but to accept. Just a couple of things but I think suggestive that not all the game is actually happening as shown. I'm really looking forward to a replay because first time round there was just too much to take in with all the surface level spectacle.

nothing to do the game
not a walking simulator, more like a slogging through mud simulator
empty world, empty story, empty forced emotions

I rejected her too just to see and thought that was a strange way to convey that the story requires you to agree. I am not at the end yet but I do think it's really strange how Sam has the fake BB pod to cope with loss. Lots of small details give me the same feeling

>until there's no option but to accept.
this encapsulates sam's character throughout both games, he has no agency, at no point does he decide "i've decided it's best to do my plan now instead of you untrustworthy backstabbing idiots". he's always following orders and never has a mind of his own, and that's nailed in at that initial cutscene (one of 2 cutscenes where you have "choice", the other one being where you get to pick who you want for charlie's voice and appearace, which is another fake choice scene)

this is also one of many other reasons why people don't connect with the story, a protagonist without agency.

Sam would do anything for an order terminal, even if it was in a goofy ass ship that rose from underneath the tar and had a hologram of his waifu. Maybe the story will go there about Sam's agency.

Is the Directors Cut stuff with Coffin from the first game relevant to 2?

There has to be, there is heavy coffin imagery throughout the game so far. I'm only maybe 1/3 through but there is heavy foreshadowing that they'll involve Coffin.

All the vehicles are hilariously bad at cornering.
Always wondered why nobody rides like a belt-drive bicycle or something simple that would be timefall-resistant

Overall great game, all the parts with Heartman, Deadman and Cliff are kino BUT:
>Higgs fight with the giant humanoid BT sucks
>Every scene with Amelie is ass
>The ending drags way too long, and is often just repeating the same plot points and dialogue we have heard several times at this point

And this is more subjective, but I think more could have been done to flesh out EEs because I find the whole concept kind of stupid. Humans have their own dimensions tied to their spirit and now those dimensions are leaking into our world due to us messing with it - that's convincing and could have been the basis of the plot itself. But it starts to stretch my immersion in the world where one sentient being is somehow chosen to be the arbitrator of extinction and they just have this hardwired drive to end everything. Feels very contrived and so much of the story is dedicated to this. I feel that Kojima could have gotten his point across about rejecting nihilism and embracing human connection without the need for the relationship between Sam and Amelie to be the focus of everything.

I wish PC gamers weren't such faggot cucks. Fuck Kojima and Sony and their double dip bullshit. Why the fuck would they deny everyone being able to let everyone enjoy this game on the same day. Fucking garbage.
Never buying sony bullshit cause of things like this. I'm sure its "great" but its hard to give a fuck.

Maybe there's people talking about more on a sony forum or something. Where there are less PC players than here.
