The main issue with that input is its overlap with walk forward 236, but SF2 had it so every game since has to have it no matter how many problems it causes.

I think motion inputs are a relic from the arcade era, but since most recent games are still designed around them, even the ones with simplified inputs like sf6, you can't really get rid of them. You have to design the game around not having motion inputs from the groud up.

I think the input is well thought out IMO. The same with standard fireball input. You can't move forward and throw fireballs immediately

That's usually intentional, if the devs want you to be able to walk forward fireball they'll put it on a button that doesn't have a DP, like Sol can do running gunflame with 66236 because his DP is on S and H but Ky can't because Stun edge is 236S same as his DP.
