With Superman’s apparent comeback to public consciousness I think its time to revisit the age old question. How would you do a Superman game full of hope, inspiration, courage and fun gameplay?

Look at how irony poisoned, porn addicted, demoralized, sociopathic and functionally inept and loveless your average gamer is. Superman is too good for them.

>Even with the legion of paid critics the new movie has a 75% RT score
The movie must be either horrendous or mindless "Japanese schoolgirls vs Zombies" schlock fun.

Sounds gay as shit. The gamers don’t want that. Gamers want games for real men like Def Jam, 50 Cent Bulletproof, etc. Not some faggot ass white massa savior complex game

Superman is a pretty fun example of /v/'s contrarianism.
>The board shits on him as the power fantasy of two Jewish men only to pretend to be sad and offended by the Suicide Squad game killing him.
>The board shits on him as a boring two-shoes one-dimensional character only to pretend he's deep and meaningful when an edgy Superman clone becomes popular with audiences
>/v/'s opinion on Superman 2025 will be entirely dependent on who likes and hates it.

And so on and so on.

You can't make a game like that for any character at all.

People simply think way too much about being "true to the text". By that logic it would be impossible to make games based on shonen like Dragon Ball or Jojo or no one would play the EDF games where a single dude can somehow kill billions of giant insects and monsters.
Just make a game where you fly and punch shit, save people and scare criminals.

>How would you do a Superman game
I wouldn't. His powers simply would not translate to a fun video game without some serious contrived faggotry like everyone has kryptonite or he gets transported to a planet with a different type of sun etc... at which point you might as well just make a game a game about a non-trash superhero instead of this one.

bring back the pressure sensitive buttons from the PS3 controller and you have to pull your punches against normal criminals. a light punch will just knock them out but a full press turns them into a bloody pulp in 1 hit lol

>comeback to public consciousness
Relevance because of a movie marketing is kinda hilarious. Regardless, after release... two weeks? maybe 3 weeks of relevance? is not enough time to make a decent game.

Game 1: Lex Luthor does Kryptonite fuckery to create a gimmicky rogues' gallery like in Smallville, Superman fights hordes of henchmen with escalating tech in semi-open levels culmimating with a boss fight with the villain du-jour, final boss is either Lex in a bullshit super suit or Doomsday
DLC: Bizarro invaders attack Metropolis, Supes will have to fight alongside familiar faces while flipping between alternate realities
Game 2: General Zod invades Earth alongside his Kryptonian army and a selection of criminals from the Phantom Zone, Supes will have to fly around the planet fighting enemies in major Earth landmarks and preventing Zod from reshaping the world
DLC: Superman is abducted through the 5th dimension by Mr. Whateverthefuckitscalled, and must face unimaginable magic and madness to return to his world
Game 3: Brainiac and his army of OC aliens have stolen Metropolis and added it to his galactic collection of planetary landmarks, Superman and his new friends (ranging from Lantern corps to Martian Manhunter to name a few) will travel across the galaxy and fight Brainiac's monsters in all sorts of alien worlds until the final showdown, where it is discovered that Brainiac's landmark collection was part of a greater plan for the discovery of the anti-life equation
Game 3: Part 2: An epic quest to find Apokolips' location, somehow lower ots magical supernatural defenses, and in the end a heroic assault where the united forces of the entire galaxy (Represented by multiple playable characters) converge in the ultimate battle against Darkseid

1. Science based villains but Lex isn't a villain hes actually helping Clark at Star Labs along with Dr. Emil Hamilton. A tragedy Superman is unable to prevent it what makes Lex lose his truth in him in the games third act.
2. Atomic Skull, Parasite, Toyman, mutant animals and plants spliced with radiation or Superman's own DNA, various thugs with tech or mechs and robots are the villains and enemies.
3. Your main goal is rescuing citizens and inspiring morale through actions both as Supes and Clark.
4. Main areas are Metropolis, Smallville, Fortress of Solitude and a small science base on the moon that'll be an allusion/precursor to the JLA Watchtower.
