any good open world games that aren't designed for you to constantly open the map to put a marker and a path that you follow linearly?

The Mad Max game

The last nu-Tomb Raider game let you turn off the map and all markings. Good puzzles and traversal but awful story and combat

Outcast. There are no markers, if you look for someone or something, you have to talk to NPCs who either describe you the way, tell you which direction to go, or point at whatever you are looking for if it's near.

Keyword is ''designed'' which means that the game is designed for you to use it. They don't specify locations anymore like ''it's south of X near Y'' like they do in old games all they do is ''i'll mark your location on your map''.

Metro Gravity, not exactly open world more like a Metroidvania with Gravity Mechanic's and Hard Puzzles.
