All-Stars is missing something of the original version's soul.
Maybe it's the NES chugging with too many enemies onscreen, or the color glitches on the left and right as the screen scrolls, or perhaps the subtle timing differences in the minigames, but it's a wholly different feel.

I played SMB1 on GBC, then Wii VC, then emulated it and beat it warpless, then beat it again on MiSter as a warmup for SMB3.

I've played through Mario 3 so many times I have most stages memorized and committed to muscle memory. Its not fun unless I give myself a challenge like no coins or no kills or I play a rom hack
