i landed on the mun and am about to land on minmus using a tech tier-5 ship with less than 30 parts
it takes time to master the different maneuvers, but the game gives you everything you need (i think, i'm a physicist, so some of the concepts make sense to me physically, like hohmann xfers).
what's the hand up?

is this a mod? are those orbits possible with the patched conics model?
i've never unlocked level 3 tracking, i was waiting until i could figure out moon missions, which was only recently

Find the delta-v map on plebbit and print it out. This will help you far more than you would think.

there are a lot of cool orbits that the patched conics model doesn't capture.
then again, patched conics landed us on the moon, so they aren't a bad model.
but yeah, things like orbiting lagrange points and weird shit like sun synchronous orbits are out (the latter may be out for even n-body dynamics, i dunno the mechanics behind that one)

the apollo missions were almost entirely controlled by a computer that had a lot of recognizable features by modern standards

going for orbits while making sure your oversized rocket doesn't spazz out and crash mid-flight is a pain.
but damn this game is fun even when shit doesn't go your way.
