As a chud developer this is why I'm wary of using this engine, tempting as it is. I want my game to be 100% troon free.
Also because it still sucks at 3D games.

Dude I was JUST playing one.
It's very alright, I really dig how deep it is, but a lot of skills are kinda useless or unusable since there's no big towns, so you can't buy farming tools, pickaxes, or normal axes to actually build a house or anything, so you're at the mercy of RNG hoping you get them from dungeons.
If you like Daggerfall you'd like this.

Looks good, but it has a profit scrape on the license over 240k, and can't export to web which is important for indie games made by nobodies

Oh right, it's also really easy to cheese dungeons by just sneaking up to and talking to bandits, then giving them a bunch of garbage to make them not want to murder you.
>Yeah hey man I just broke into your house
>But here, have some grass and sticks and shit I picked up outside
>Okay I'm gunna go loot your chests now, bye

Main reason I'm not switching off of Unity.
People were shilling the fuck out of this thing few years ago, but there's barely any popular titles compared to Unity or GameMaker.

I'm sure it has potential but I'm not going to jump on the open source train and do the hard work, I'll wait until it proves itself. Slay the Spire 2 was announced so that's something.
Same thing applies to vibe coding btw.

Before Godot 4, the engine was pretty awful to work with. Especially if you wanted to do anything 3D.
It's gaining popularity because it's actively improving while other engines are doing retarded shit.
