You can buffer the manual input, you don't have to wait for the revert animation to end to input it. In fact you can buffer inputs alot, like going up a ramp, you can buffer your directional inputs and when you actually leave the ramp you just press the flip or grab button for your special, works the same way off walls, if you are inputting your directions when you are already in the air you are doing it wrong. It is kinda like the dial a combo system in Mortal Mombat.

Tldr: learn to buffer your inputs.

I hate to say, but I am hyped for skate 4. I don't mind the more toonish look, I like how bright and clean it is like 3. And the skating looks nice n snappy.

Don't grind the same section of rail multiple times in a row, and don't manual too many times in a row, either. Those give you big penalties to your balance. When you're on a rail, you should be pressing the normal inputs to switch up your grind, not ollieing off, then landing in a different grind.

You can buffer the input for a revert to make it more consistent, too.

50 Million points isn't actually all that much for a single combo, it's very achievable even if you're not that skilled, as long as you have a plan.

In general, start out with your highest scoring special tricks. Frontload all of them to the best of your ability, then spend the rest of the combo chaining together low point value tricks to build up your multiplier.

I hadn't picked up a Tony Hawk game in like 15 years before 1+2. Maybe there was still some decrepit muscle memory from Underground still kicking around in there, but it only took me a couple days to get good enough to start cranking out lines in the millions. By the time the full game was out, I was already back up to speed. The truth is that these games just aren't that hard to do well in, and that's a big part of the fun. A decent player can rack up a big score, and a good player can start pushing the limits of the whole scoring system. It's pure Arcade mentality and that's a fun thing to have a little vestige of, in this day and age.

I’ve never played something like this, but I’m alright at souls and shooters. My D pad definitely isn’t right. I’m being really aggressive with it and it’s still 50/50 for manuals. Some of it is carelessness, hitting ramps at the wrong angle, missing rails, forgetting to switch before manual, not having anything in range. I’m roughly meeting the level goals, insane score on the first 2, silver in Rio. It’s just hard to imagine doing much better
