What is the Smash Bros game with the best/most single player content for lonelyfags like me?

Melee.
Subspace plays like shit, Smash Tour is trash, Smash Run is on a handheld and World of Light/Spirits Mode is padded beyond padded.

lonelyfag here, i think it's brawl, don't waste your time with smash for wii u, im playing ultimate story, it's repetitive but im having fun

Seriously Ultimate could've been amazing if they kept all the previous modes and kept trophies. I get it has a load of characters but are you really telling me Nintendo couldn't allocate more resources to really make it feel like the "ultimate" smash bros?

Brawl

Not even a Melee tourneyfag, but nothing will beat the jump from N64 to Melee. You can argue about which game plays better, but when comparing sequels and raising the bar, Melee made leaps and bounds of improvements

I loved every entry in Smash, but none of them wowed me like Melee did. Only thing I can recall that came close was Sonic being announced for Brawl.

But yeah, either melee or brawl.

Ultimate.
Melee is only fun when drunk off ur arse pwning noobs who think spamming, dash dancing and wave dashing is "tech"

Melee was interesting in the sense that when it came out it had the most articulated Nintendo character models by a massive degree for all their IPs. So you were given the definitive depiction of all Nintendo characters in one game for awhile.

Brawl is the only one that has an actual story mode. The other games have fake story modes that are not story modes at all but just pretending to be story modes, like the world of light for example.

Brawl is the best single player one because it has the most fleshed out single player mode.

Melee is the best one in general, and ultimate has the best online play if you want to play online single player, ultimate is also the most balanced and fair smash bros game despite also having the most characters, lol.

Sakurai made clear in his Youtube retrospective that bring back all the characters took up most of the development budget. It's why I pray to god that Smash 6 won't be afraid to cut some characters if it means the game gets beefier in other areas.

I put hundreds of hours into 64, Melee and Brawl over the years as a lonelyfag. I didn't have a ton of friends growing up so I put the most into Brawl. Sometimes I'd delete my save file just so I could experience the thrill of unlocking all the characters and stages over again. I did that for all 3 games.

Melee and Brawl, not even a contest. Brawl's gameplay is kinda ass though, but there are mods like Project M and I guess Brawl+/- to make it more fun.
