I would only recommend IV DS to people that are intimately familiar with IV already. It fundamentally changes mechanics as well as switches up weaknesses for bosses and other enemies.

Iād go with the 3DS remake, the story is actually quite good and emotional and the 3D models get the emotion of the many dramatic scenes across better than the much more simple pixel sprites.
