While simultaneously adding more with more useless story NPCs who won't shut the fuck up.
What I liked about S/M was the departure from the tried and true formula of the 8 gym format. It's still somewhat formulaic but it was a nice breath of fresh air. Team Skull is also the best team in the franchise.
The game could definitely be salvaged. It's not a lost cause like S/V or fucking especially X/Y.

Fair enough. Ruby/Sapphire aren't bad, but Emerald definitely makes them obsolete.
