>shit campaign
>mediocre multiplayer with awful lootbox system
>futuristic aesthetics fucking suck for cod
>specialist system
>only 1 zombie map at launch had to pay extra for a good one
>fun dead ops arcade
>multiplayer maps were somehow either mediocre or shit
>saving grace was the pc workshop support for custom zombies
i thought the dlc zombie maps were starting to show the cracks in the franchise overall.
>also emotes

Black Ops 2 Futuristic aesthetic was kino because it felt modern without feeling sci-fi garbage

I'm glad they're probably bringing it back

Microtransactions. Zoomers love “old” call of duty but fail to realize just how scummy the dlc practices were

The writers were punching well above their weight.
Designers went too far with the futuristic crap.
Seems train did indeed go boom because they didn't even bother with a story for BO4.

BO3 is definitely not 'Old' CoD, the last game that really applies to is Ghosts. The BO3 era is still far better than the franchise now though.

Pretty sure this game added specialists which was a huge turn-off. The multiplayer wasn't actually that bad at all and uplink was a really good mode, evac was one of the best maps the series had up to that point. It just wasn't black ops 2. I also believe it had microtransactions but I either didn't play it long enough for it to matter or they just didn't matter to begin with. I can't even remember what they were, like random skins and shit?

It was one of those cods you get on sale at a pawn shop for like $5 when you're bored of your main game

>Shit campaign
Jason Blundell had this retarded idea where the whole story is fake and set in the protagonist's dying brain
>Self indulgent zombies
All maps are now extremely tedious with so many setups and small easter eggs distracting more from how boring the gameplay loop is all while the enemy is now octopussies and squids. Zombies? they are nothing burger. It's no surprise that BO3 zombies only took off after remastering the old maps and adding mod tools which is 1.5 year after release.
>Multiplayer with so many microtransactions
Literal guns were locked behind supply drops they were full on kikes with it

cod is just dead at this point, the original people who made the great ones are gone and have no involvement

COD putting celebrity characters in the game well after their relevance has faded is bizarre.

It means they're cheaper to afford, it's not bizarre. This is the same company who can't even afford to give their guns real names.

They did zombies right
multiplayer and campaign was a dumpster fire mainly because of the enforced sci-fi mechanics

its not even a money issue here its muh morals issue. last i heard a shooter game was being made and some gun companies offered free help for putting the weapons in the game by sending them the actual firearms to the devs

Compared to the Modern Warfare games, yes. But it's a pretty good Call of Duty game overall.

it's not moral either it's lawsuits "oh this kid is a school shooter and they used a gun from call of duty that they played 10 whole hours of and learned to shoot"

How is this any different than Rockstar refusing to pay artists any more than chump change for music licensing

Later on they started adding guns in lootboxes, mostly WW2/Modern ones
