Is LoL actually dying finally? I don't hear anything about this game anymore after how horrible Arcane Season 2 was.
All I heard about the game ever since:

>Legendary skins are dogshit quality now
>Mythic Essence only avaliable from the gacha so no more Mythic rarity skins aka Premiums and others

>Added Mel into the game who is broken
>LeBlanc reworked into a developer self insert and had all her skins censored, ruined, and made uglier
>Mordekaiser skin before he became Mordekaiser skin was a monumental failure of a skin because besides being gacha exclusive, it looked like shit, had worst effects, and reused Jax animations
>Ashe Legendary from a couple months ago was actually going to be a gacha skin but was removed last minute due Mordekaiser's failure of a skin
>Jhin's Legendary is worse than his legendary a few years ago, reuses old animations, and no longer voiced by his old VA
>Devs still did the LGBT pride shit when companies were dropping that stuff
>New character has tons of skin but no boobs or butt sadly
>Shaco finally got a legendary but it sucks ass

League seems like it was dying since like Season 3 it was just such a big game that that's how long it takes to bleed out. Same with Dota 2 and 7.0.

I stopped playing LoL when I upgraded my rig beyond a potato and subsequently realized how little fun I was actually having playing the game long after my friends had all quit.

It's been dying for a long time. No game can realistically remain that big for that long. If there's been a change it's more that there was a noticeable shift in how aggressively it's dying. If they'd kept making good characters that people liked, put effort into the actual game, and didn't start strangling the player base for cash, they could have drawn that goodwill out into another decade of cultural relevance. The only cultural success they've had is a gay cartoon for trannies. It wasn't even supposed to be canon, so now they're completely rewriting the game's lore for the 15th time to try and recoup their losses because no one who watched the show wants to play the game.

League has been dead for a while. I last played in 2024 and reached high gold before getting sick of being up against chinese booster premades that always farmed my teammates like minions. I'd play normal games too, and they were also full of chink subhumans smurfing. It's fucking dead, at least in NA.

It's actually growing in EU somehow ("french" aka nafris, spanish, arab immigrants love the game)
It's big in China but apparently the mobile gaming market is eating the younger generation which is fine by Tencent since they have even more control over that than they do over league.

Season 5 was about the last point that this game was good not gonna lie. The old characters were simple to play but rewarding. At some point after that korean pro started playing zed (who was disgustingly overpowered back then) teleported around doing flashy plays, riot decided that champions with infinite dashes and low counterplay were more popular so the game went in that direction. Old league was much more like dota and it was better for it, not for ADHD kids, but for people that like good video games. MOBA is a dead genre though so I guess it can't be helped.

While season 5 looks like a godsend compared to modern league, never forget that the decline started in season 3. That's when esports went from "oh we'll support them because people want to be competitive" into "we're now focusing on esports as our primary design philosophy". This meant speeding up gold generation, reducing cooldowns across the board, nerfing tank items across the board, increasing damage across the board, and having to find a way to make tanks good again so fuck it just give every tank more damage that scales off HP or tank stats, oops tank meta guess we need to add more damage...a never-ending cycle.

Yes, season 3 was still "good" because it was coming off the backs of old League. But it was one of the first stepping stones into the eventual decline of league into nothing but nonstop ability spam with mobility and damage creep out the ass.

this desu, lost my season 1 account from their broken ass report / punishment system. you have to play the game with team and allchat muted and even then you might get banned for pinging in a way that could be deemed toxic.. what a joke. and when they added kernel level anti-cheat that broke map skinning / changing the font to the one they use on the korean client, that's when it was truly dead to me. dota was always better but i enjoyed league season 1-4 quite a bit maybe with the exception of the original rune system, that shit was kinda retarded ngl.

Also all new characters look like shit since a few years, and don't get me started on the reworked champs. LoL had much potential, but it has been all ruined by this woke shitty company
