they're finally making an Inazuma Eleven with a PC port so I can actually check out this series. Any experts that can tell me, do they have a continuous plot or something and I need to play a previous one or can I just jump in with this and be fine?

They basically reset everything after each trilogy with some small connections like the first protagonist being the coach of the second trilogy. In Victory Road the original protagonists son is the main rival and one of the side characters is now a coach for one of the main teams. They start going full retard with the story after the first game so it doesn't really matter and the new one has the basic story from every game in the chronicle mode.

Sounds perfect for me then, thanks. I mean I figure most games in general are designed in such a way that you can play them standalone otherwise they miss out on a huge chunk of potential buyers, but that sounds particularly convenient so I'll just go for it.

The last game came out 12 years ago so they needed to include every single character and every single match as a refresher.

Can we play as a forward Chad instead of a GK or a MF.
