Johnny was cool and he fit with V's smartass dynamic compared his blunt approach to things. Although the music in this game is painfully mediocre besides the combat music Samuari sounds like the most generic garage band rock, they could've saved some money cutting out Grimes and payed for some better artists.

If you just vibe and drive or walk around around when you're mid-late game there's actually a ton of emergent stuff going on. I kept getting ambushed and the fights are genuinely really good, because the cars crash and sprawl onto a lower-level street, the Maelstrom or whoever get out all dazed and you have to find some impromtu cover. The NPCs get into fights. There's car accidents that block the entire highway bridge so you have to get out and walk. It's pretty fucking well done IMO. Early game is pretty weak, it's true.

The radio is hot and cold. Some of the songs are legit good and have millions of plays on Spotify. Lots of it is trash though. The world music is lame, yeah, it's barely passable cinematic type of music that can easily loop or coda depending on how low it takes V to do stuff.

Cyberpunk beats GTA on aesthetics alone. Gay nigger rap 30 years after Tupac "died" is trite shit. Cyberpunk also has way better gameplay beyond shooting, and CDPR's big mistake was corraling naive players into playing it like an FPS. The game shines if you play as a techno-mage with spells and potions (RIP the consumables mechanics from pre-1.6). The gunplay just isn't good enough to carry the game, though.hajta
