Unironically the most fun execution of a flail I experienced was Legends Arena 3: Sage of War on Roblox 13 years ago because if you held down the flail you would spin it around you, doing minor damage and knocking people back which made it easier for when you launched it at someone by letting go, doing major damage, and if it was positioned correctly you would pull it back towards you, hitting them a second time and usually killing them.

flails are an early game weapon in battle brothers but they really shine. you basically just go around obliterating any unit with out a helmet

Because all weapons in gorn are made out of rubber, you can grab the ball of the flail, span it like a slingshot and then let it go to launch it into the enemy at a very high speed.

I was so excited for Flails leading up to Elden Ring’s release. I was super happy that the basic Flail is just found in Gatefront Ruins. I forced myself to use it for all of Limgrave, even killed Margit with my +1 standard infused flail. But I couldn’t lie to myself any more, it was hot fucking garbage. So I switched to Twinblade.

Flails are actually statistically really good.

But none of that matters when they just feel like complete ass to swing.

Not only are the animations and sounds for it really satisfying, its main attack is an overhead swing that's great for hitting an enemy directly on the top of the head, so it's really OP in that game's limb-based damage system.
