Nintendo’s trailers are all like this now, explaining to the viewer the mechanics and conceit of the game in the dryest, most succinct manner possible, as if explaining why the sky is blue to a toddler. This is because the average tendie is either a child mentally. They could have made a better, more engaging trailer for this game but then some retard would get confused because they weren’t spoonfed.

The treehouse gameplay footage is a better indication of just how good Beyond will be, but that’s not what they showed most people. Most people were showed elaborate door-opening autism.

Why do samus and her enemies have such cucked movement in 2025? Also lock on is inexcusable. Use. The Mouse. The EMMI segments are by far the worst experience I have ever had in a Metroid game. They went too cinematic in Dread, and despite what everyone says I think Samus Returns had the perfect mix of 'Samus being cool' and gameplay. Dread went ott because people responded to it positively and it went too far and ruined it.

The shit thing about the EMMI segments were how they stuck around on the map as just bland empty identical rooms breaking up each area's environment design. They were fine to actually play through in the moment.

Based on what I’ve heard I’d say it’s a solid 8/10. The lush jungle theme is good. The space pirate invasion track is okay. Metroid should always keep the theremin slide whistle and crushed vocals and sound like an over the top space opera, this franchise is at its best when it embraces its roots as early pulp sci fi. Kenji Yamamoto is definitely involved, because the intro version of Theme of Super Metroid uses the incredibly obscure Sound in Action extended version and it sounds great.

Any hope for Prime 2 and 3 to come to Switch remastered like Prime 1? I am new to the series just having beat Prime 1 and damn, what a game. Seriously even just part way through the game it had me hoping soon for the other Prime games to get a re-release and hopefully physically.

I hate how underrated Metroid is. It deserves far more success. It deserves its fucking flowers already.

Metroid Prime Remastered seems like it was more a proof of concept to get Nintendo to let Retro take over MP4’s development than being part of some marketing push. And I’d rather Retro focus on making Beyond as good as it can be than stretch themselves thin remaking the entire trilogy.
