>>715065542 (OP)>Why is it remembered it as the only good remake?Because it was the first full-blown recreation of an already famous "classic", made by the OG devs to the OG fans. It is also THE game that started the entire remake boom, that is still going on.
>is it that good or just nostalgia speaking? It is that good.
It used to be THE holy grail title for all RE-fans, since it was literally locked away behind an old Nintendo system for nearly two decades.
Then, in 2015, Crapcom surprised everyone and released a (half assed but funcitonal) "HD remaster" of the REmake 1.
And they got shocked by its EXPLOSIVE sales.
It did so well, it literally revived RE franchise as a whole. RE7 and DEmake 2 were announced the very next year, and they even pushed RE0 HD out in record time in-between.
RE1 remake is everything that every single fan of ALL classic retro titles have asked from a more modern take since 2002:
faithful to the OG gameplay and style, but still with enough new content and changes to keep the old veteran fans busy and entertained.
Sadly, this sort of loving recreation of classic games essentially died some 15 years ago, and now all we get are more and more generic and "played safe", often casualized as fuck TLOU / Uncharted / SH Homecoming reskins, with plenty of content cuts and various modern issues on top (UE5 jank, woke-shit projecting, paid DLC waves....)
>>715065619>>Most remakes are superior to the originals. Not by a long shot.
FF7, RE2-4, Silent Hill 2, Twin Snakes, AitD...
All some of the worst shit on the market, and pure insults towards the originals.
>>715065793Incorrect again. RE2-4 demakes were literally rushed out garbage, made for people who HATE classic RE.
You can also easily spot the paid shill hypocrites by their tendency to omit the RE3R from their posts, no matter that it was literally the exact same shit, through and through.

It's easier to make, and appeals to ADHD zoomers.
