Because the Org trio are semi-iconic in their own rights, KH2 has many branches leading back to itself in the sense that Axel wank, Roxas wank and Org wank in general DID NOT STOP after KH2 came out.
It was to milk out the adults that grew up with them, ignoring the fact I'd rather Roxas be absorbed in Sora and the 'real' Roxas, Ventus, being awakened was what people wanted out of 3 to begin with.
