I like it a lot. Most of my problems are technical (looks a bit blurry, weird artifacts). I didn't play with any upscaling so I don't know what's up with that.

Watching Tifa juggle a trash mob for 35 seconds reminds me of all of the videos where people insisted Genshin Impact was deep by juggling a goblin for 35 seconds despite the fact that, after multiple years, none of that ever happened in actual gameplay.

It's just more of that intrinsic vs extrinsic rewards. FF7 OG had that too to be fair. Yeah you COULD set up powerful Materia combos that take advantage of the free form nature of the game. Or you can just select Beta until it comes time to select Magic Breath

I feel like because I have the original FF7 experience is what makes Rebirth so good. Seeing the beloved cast interact and see their thoughts and opinions on what they experience feels like you are apart of the journey. Sounds sappy and cheesy but I think it's what makes these games so comforting to relax and play. It's why I can forgive some issues like bloat, combat not being completely refined, and some narrative choices because at its core it gives that great feeling of adventure
