GTA Online is already so reverse-engineered that I don't know how Rockstar figures they will convince people to migrate. And it was only reverse-engineered because Rockstar left everything wide open, which allowed people to design hack menus to fabricate in-game money, which is also the only reason Online took off since the current pricing of Shark Cards and in-game items would set you back several grand to afford even a tenth of it.

>Rockstar is extremely bad at coding
>Rockstar is so bad at coding that a leaked GTA V build was thought to be fake since a lot of it was just GTA IV with new animations
>GTA 6's was also just the prior game's build with some new models and animations
>GTA Online is a basic framework of scripts and hooks attached to GTA V
>Rockstar implemented absolutely nothing preventing users from playing with the backend
>modders also did this in GTA IV but nobody gave a fuck back then because there was nothing to exploit, other than being able to throw cars at each other and have godmode on
>modders realize that in-game cash items in GTA Online are implemented in the most basic way possible
>if you tell the game "Spawn money_bag_rich" you can do that thousands of times sequentially
>this will make your character hit the money cap and you never need to worry about money ever again
>this completely circumvents the gameplay model that is meant to be frustrating and tempt you to buy Shark Cards
>Rockstar issues bans and tries to patch all the methods for spawning money objects
>they continue to be bad programmers so this does not work
>Rockstar tries to combat this by... making everything ingame extremely expensive to the point where a motorcycle costs 15 million dollars
>legitimate players would have to run the game's most lucrative heist 500 times (it takes an hour each and requires teamwork) to afford 1 fucking motorcycle
>whenever new content comes out that offers cash rewards (and it has to) there is a few weeks where money hacks are free game
>before long a majority of players hack because why the fuck would you grind when you can install Scripthook and get it for free
>issuing more bans would euthanize the game's entire community
>Rockstar gives up
God only knows how cancerous GTA 6's online mode will be

I dont believe that, two prior games had multiplayer. Plus there are no last-minute decisions where you get over half of the singleplayer mode's voice cast to record mission dialogue specific to multiplayer.

They could literally shit in the CD case or mail a box of their own feces to you if you buy it digitally and they will still sell an infinity-1 copies simply because it says, "Grand Theft Auto"

Will it last longer than a year? No, but they'll have made too much money to care by then.
