I wonder if this is the same guy making the Max Payne threads. Maybe heโ€™s lonely.

I can see hard/impossible being pretty difficult on a first run, but if you've played the game before impossible is not that bad. Initial enemy placement is the same every playthrough as well as cameras and turrets being static, plus you know exactly how to use your cyber modules.

SS2 would've been better if it didn't have SHODAN

The harder the mode, the more it is a hobo wrenching sim, no way around it.

System Shock 2 couldn't be System Shock 2 without Shodan.
If it was not a sequel, but a standalone game, as planned initially, its identity could've been different, but there's no way of testing that.
I can say the final boss would've been traditionally shit as Irrational/Looking Glass never could into bosses. Oh well.

It made the game weaker, and it made her character weaker.

That they couldn't make SS3 without dredging her out again just showed they really had no ideas.

I don't get this mentality. Same with weirdos who hate tv shows and watch them to the end.

How do you even fight the enemies when you run out of ammo really quick and half of them explode when you try to kill them in melee?

Put more points in endurance to tank the damage early, otherwise you'll get kill in two hits by the average pipe dude

only servant bots explode. For big bots you wrench them down by circling around them. they cant really hit you if you are in their face. Then as they are on their last legs finish off with one-two shots from whatever shit you have

servant bots are bs but with high agility you can sprint past them fast enough to get far enough that their aoe does not hit you

I also find System Shock 2 to be zero fun. SS1 has so much cyberpunk soul and some how doesn't feel "lonely" with all the voice tapes and history on the station. But System Shock 2 feels more "gamey" and feels extremely isolating. There's not really anything fun to fuck around with it's just how do I hide from this stupid enemy?

Deus Ex is all about the interactivity and the balance between civilian areas and dangerous areas overlapping on tight levels. That gives the game amazing pacing and breaks in the tension. System Shock 2 lacks all of that... it's just another hostile space station where everyone is dead and we've already seen how that plays out.
