Is Steam Deck a viable desktop gaming PC when docked? A mid range gaming PC, even when built by yourself, is about $1300 nowdays, but a Steam Deck + dock is only about $500.
>>715091470 same a lot of video streaming sites will occasionally not work, as well. youtube has no issues sometimes external hard drives don't work. for no fucking reason. then they work again the most annoying is how the hdmi output will stop working until I unplug the dock from power no, just restarting while plugged in doesn't do it it's infuriating yet, somehow, still better than windows 11

>>715090208 (OP) No because of some weird things Valve does where the Deck reqwrites specific system files with every update. Valve does ot so people dont break the OS and then blame Valve for it. I assume at some point after they release it as a stand alone OS that will change. Also im sure in some room within the Valve building they are probably working on Steam Office or something like that and dont announce it because they know the second they do MS will go feral on them.

>>715090208 (OP) Itโs fine. Just know you donโt get any better performance by docking so make sure it can run the games that you want to play well. Youโll probably also have to run them at 720p which looks bad on a 4k monitor
