Single player good with mods, multi-player is okay never tried it, but stay away from Versus tho. Some retarded faggot kicked me literally for no reason as i made a mistake after going on a Dead Center Versus match and it still pisses me off to this day, but otherwise it's my favorite game I only play to this day

L4D1 had most of its storytelling elements cut outside of Crash Course being Valve changing their minds, but L4D2 has a clear story between its campaigns
I was gifted this game in 2012, played for like 20 hours with a friend and never touched it again until recently because I'm extremely antisocial. I'm playing the campaigns with bots to learn the maps and stuff. Will it be a good idea to jump in and play the campaigns with strangers?

You will not be in a party of 3 other serious players with high expectations in campaign (especially when you hit a modded 8 player or superCoop server) so don't be so anxious.

singleplayer is good for all the valve-made campaign maps and some custom campaigns. id recommend something like left 4 bots mod to make the AI better.
