Why do these old wrestling games feel so much better to play inside and outside the ring than the newer 2k ones? It can't just be the wrestlers of the era were better/more iconic or nostalgia.
>>715104203 (OP)Because they're actual video games instead of simulators. Same reason NBA Jam is so much fun to play but NBA 2K is shit.
>>715104203 (OP)They don't, it's just childish nostalgia or a fundamental misunderstanding on how Professional Wrestling is performed
>>715104203 (OP)They were better mechanically.
>>715104203 (OP)Because a bunch of them are build around an engine made by the japanese, with much slicker and smoother gameplay mechancics. See also Def Jam series 1 and 2 vs 3.
>>715104203 (OP)Because every 2k game past 2k14 has been dogshit.
Even ones people like to tout are good no really like 19 and 22 are doshit.
Fire Pro sucks balls too.
>>715104203 (OP)they used to get japanese developers to do these games, and because for several decades in japan pro wrestling was just MMA but with more flash japanese wrestling games are fighting games instead of cutscene simulators so they bring that mindset over to WWE
Core memory: I remember only having WWF War Zone & some game on the Genesis as a kid, and when I bought a PS2 and a copy of Shut Your Mouth, I was blown away at how much better it was!
>>715104203 (OP)This game wasn't even as good as Smackdown! on the PS1 or No Mercy on N64.
>>715105078IIRC 06 had more moves, but 07 introduced a neat grappling system and some environmental interactions.
>>715104203 (OP)Back then I saw this exact same post about this exact same game but the "old wrestling game" was No Mercy for the Nintendo 64
You're getting old anon
