Sometimes you get free games or discounted games.
But you can do what you like with it. Not only that they provide versions of games that are usually untampered with unlike steam E.G Redneck Rampage.

They're the second best games retailer after Steam, but it's a pretty wide margin.
I made an account to get the free games back when they were passing out Dungeon Keeper and didn't actually buy anything from them until about a month ago.
