I find it funny that Capcom of all companies proved SKG's point by releasing pic related almost 2 years ago.
How is this btw? The offline version I mean.
>>715114224Pretty fun, and they actually found a way to make unlocking things take significantly less time. It doesn't suck complete shit. I wish this were the norm for mobile/gacha games once they die.
>>715112797 (OP)They are one of the few companies not in the lobbyist group against SKG.
>>715112797 (OP)Wasn't there also an online dragon quest game that was reworked so you could play the whole thing offline? Not looking it up, eat my whole ass
>>715116531Yeah I think it was Dragon Quest XI or some shit but I think they only did like an early version of the game and not the rest of it. I could be wrong on all counts though.
Only been lurking these threads the past couple of days and some of the shill arguments are pretty horrific. The worst has gotta be "muh indies".
I'm sorry, if you are an indie developer that has created and willing to manage a centralized server, then you have the resources to allow for it to be transfered to other servers. The fuck are you going to do if your central server ACK'd it?
>>715114224It an alright game, only downside is that it doesn't have any of the collab stuff.
As I was typing that, I found out that the collab stuff can be modded back in
Honestly not sure if this is meant to be a bait thread because this was the best possible outcome for this game, even if it does suffer in terms of design, but the fact it didn't become lost media is in fact a good thing. I keep thinking back to how Nier Automata 2 happened inside of a gacha and its only preserved through video and screenshots. That shit is retarded, man.
>>715112797 (OP)Purchases in the gacha version did not transfer nor did people get a discount for offline. Several crossover events from the gacha did not get equivalents in offline.
Not sure this is the best example OP.
>>715117104The DMC armors were sick as fuck
>>715117597>gacha>purchaseThe game was originally free unlike offline version, only retards chose to give them money and in the end you got the entire game anyway. So yes it is a good example.
>>715117597If they enjoyed Megaman X Dive enough to dump hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars into it I don't think they'd mind spending whatever small sum it is to continue playing the game offline.
>>715118297If someone was spending hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars on dive they were doing it to dunk on people in PvP. They wouldn't waste a dime on a version that doesn't allow for that.
>>715112797 (OP)I actually played this game just for the novelty of playing an offline gacha, it kinda feels like hosting your own MMO private server which is pretty cool, but then I remembered I hate Megaman
>>715116682That's Dragon Quest X. Really it's basically an offline version of the first few story arcs that works as a primer before you upload your character to the full MMO.
Asking devs to create offline versions of online games is a costly burden that not all games can viably do. This means games would die in planning that would have otherwise been made. People need to think about the consequences of what the petition is asking for.
>>715120154Killing the genre would be fine too. Fuck all this pandering to multiplayer games. I was sick of it back in 7th gen. Too many good single player games have to be boggled downed with some shitty tacked on multiplayer. Even the most niche game ever has to add some shitty multiplayer where the servers shutdown in 1-3 years because the game isn't selling like WoW numbers and you'll be laughed at for even suggesting couch co-op.
Shit genre even killed couch co-op.
>>715114685Might be difficult to pull since most gacha games barely have any semblance of gameplay unlike this one
>>715114224Pretty good. Use steam input to allow shooting in any direction with the right analog stick also fire your gun and it's perfect.
>>715120154>Should we do this as a live service, $80 game that asks players to also pay for a bi-monthly battlepass with fomo grinding mechanics?>It's to expensive to make>Darn, how about we scale it back a bit then?I literally see no downsides.
>>715120154Good. If games can't be made ethically then they shouldn't be made.
>>715114224I recall something about the controls bothering me. Maybe it was menu navigation or something. I also recall progression not making too much sense
>>715120154If Devs want us to cover the costs of their irresponsible decisions, they might as well start asking for tips too.
>>715114685does it actually like, have an ending? is it something I can buy and play through like a normal game and be done with it? or does it eventually hit the usual gaas treadmill, except now there's no new future content
