I think my biggest takeaway from this is that I just don't like 3 and 4 as much as 1 and 2. First half of 3 is great but the later levels are kind of a slog, LA in particular is such a mess. Also the whole NPC thing from the original version of 4 always sucked and I don't mind them making 4 more like the classic games. Always felt like 4 was a weird half step between 3 and THUG.

I know people shit on the remakes but as someone who played with the Dreamcast versions of 1 and 2 I really enjoyed 1+2 because it was just the same games but tighter and with the addition of 3+4 stuff like reverts and wall hopping. I didn't like that they removed the cash to buy stats, now you grab stat points. Only 2 tracks of 1+2 were missing from the originals but they added a shit ton more songs. Also I didnt like how they changed the lighting/day time of some of the levels because I feel like it changes the atmosphere of the original levels. I believe Venice was changed from noon to sunset, so the park just feels really empty and lonely. Also the mall has gone from a bright level to a more poorly lit area that is now abandoned. I saw the trailer for 3+4 and some of the levels look like they've been changed. But this is also a different developer from 1+2 so I dunno. I haven't boughted the game yet and it kinda sucks that like only 10 of the 50(?) songs from 3 and 4 made it to 3+4. That's just my take on it, otherwise 1+2 was fantastic and I got it on Switch and PC. I would imagine that 3+4 is also very good. I might do a run of 3 on GameCube or PS2 emulator just to see what's up, I remember 3 having a lot of great levels.

Well yea dude, the people that grew up with this knew the originals always kicked ass. I will admit i played the remake of 1+2 and that made me not want to play this one. Few reasons, for one it had politcal bullshit like your character can wear a mask, two it had to shoehorn a ftm tranny in it, three they took down online play without saying shit and last thing is theres hardly any secret characters. It just goes to show that most remakes are nothing more than cashgrabs while also shitting on what made the originals awsome.

I beat all goals in like 3 hours, had to look up the fucking Raise the Ferry one, why the fuck did they change that. Overall I think it's quite a good remake, there is some hit and miss, mostly in 4, but I still have to do the Pro goals, so maybe those are like actual shit.

For me THPS2 felt like the peak of the series, and playing 3+4 just reaffirms why. Goal cams in 3 fucking suck, and even in the 2 minute format 4 is boring as shit. The gutted soundtrack and map errors doesn't help either.

The secret score decks were unobtainable for like 99.9% of the player base, so it makes sense that they'd remove unlocks from secret scores; are there no secret scores at all though? Seems weird since there's still the 10 million score/combo achievement, which I feel people bitched about more (despite the fact that you could cheese it with CAPs).

There is no secret scores, but you can get the same premier decks as 1+2 for each level with a significantly decreased score requirement. Also I feel the most bitched about is the level 100 cheevo because people simply just don't want to play the game. (I got level 100 3 times)
