Still there are key differences.
>ParryingThe safest form of defense in SB, it can deflect nearly all attacks. Cannot defens against ranged attacks and it puts you in place
>DodgeIt has no iframes, but it moves you and repositions you. Used for avoiding ranged attacks.
>BlinkRepositions Eve behind the enemy and stuns the enemy, allowing you punish the enemy
>RepulseKicks the enemy away from you, stuns them, and exposes a yellow weak point that massively increases gun damage damage on the target
Meanwhile in most action games, defense mechanics mostly boil down to press button to not get hit. Besides this is not an arpg, you cant expect every move to have some sort debuff or buff.
