Easily the best in the series. It's kind of a shame when the first game is so good and straight to it's point and the sequels just never touch that feeling again. EA definitely meddled and changed things as things went on to compete with Dark Souls and shit like that. I never finished it but should revisit it.

Never played Origins, but I have only heard good things about it, and that the series goes downhill afterward.

I did play Inquisition. The best way I can describe it is "press A to awesome," offline MMO shtick. It felt unbelievably boring, and the world was divided into small chunks, which ruined any sense of it being a true open world.

What baffles me is how it won GOTY in 2014. Is DA 2 any good? I already know Veilguard was a complete shitshow, and EA fired the entire writing staff who worked on it.

Gameplay sucks everything else is great

It had a really small world with areas that got reused way too much. I haven't played since it was new and I don't really remember the story. The recycled areas is the main thing that stuck with me.

DA2 was the regular people story of DA:O's world-saving story. I love it, it's hated for many reasons but some of those many reasons are wrong. The combat in 2 is like a dumbed down mass effect knockoff and thats a perfectly valid reason to hate the game. The writing is perfect but the characters are immensely hateable so it's semi-valid.

Bait the Revenant into fighting your tank. Once the Revenant takes the bait, have your mage cast forcefield on your tank. Now, the Revenant cannot hurt your tank while the forcefield is active. Now beat on the Revenant until it dies. Since your tank is in a forcefield, you can also use your aoe spells and attacks too.
If the Revenant is still alive after the forcefield wears off, then start using your CC spells and abilities on it to stun it until you can cast forcefield again to make your tank invincible again.

Overrated crap

It's a real PC CRPG but it's also built by a bunch of people that thought WoW was the peak game design of the human species. It ends up looking like a high water mark because genuine CRPGs were in a horrible shit spiral starting in the early-mid 2000s until trickling back to life in the mid 2010s.

Graphic: The game graphic is pretty dated and I hate how everyone look yellow-ish.
Combat and leveling: Good but some specialization are just straight up useless (shapeshifter and two-handed)
Story and characters: Pretty good but I hate how Bioware do romance in this game and Mass Effect 1. Some characters basically exist just to be the butt of the jokes.

Also Leilana is shit.

I had a great time with it when it came out. It took a minute to get used to setting up my party to behave in certain ways when I'm not controlling them but once I got it down it became fun. I had several years of WoW fresh before playing this so the slow auto-attacks and cool down based gameplay was something I had gotten used to, but I understand how not everyone would like it. It also had a lot of replayability not only with story choices, but with what kind of class you want to build. The base classes opened up more options that kinda give me Dragons Dogma vibes now that I think back to it. Mage can be basic elemental style, blood magic, shapeshifter, healer, even a fucking OP tank.

The story was alright. It has solid moments and some fun characters. There's a decent amount of side content and dlc that gives more lore and that's always a good time for games that rely heavily on world building.

Massively overrated but because people are retarded they don't even realize they are doing it. The people who think DAO is above a 6/10 are like men in a desert who just found a thimbleful of water and forgot what it was like to actually be able to quench their thirst even though all they have to do is turn their head and there is an oasis 20 feet behind them.
