So let me get it straight. I don't own a game I buy if it's a digital copy (license), jew can insert literal spying mechanism years after I bought it, I can lose the ability to play it even if it's a single player game, but.. the stop killing games movement doesn't address any of that?

That's like making a stop raping the corpse once she's dead movement. It seems to miss the bigger picture.

Stop Killing Games has a very specific focus/goal, it's not on them to address the other issues you mentioned (which are all valid concerns). Incidentally, has there been a game that's guilty of all the stuff you listed? I'm curious how widespread all those things happening with one game is.

Debatable, but companies (currently) have zero way to legally enforce anything regarding whether or not you get to play your physical copy, especially with older titles. For modern titles they would literally have to program planned obsolescence into single player games, which data miners would pick up on long before the game ever hit the shelves.

I'm referring specifically to 2K injecting some gay spying into their games, also watched some video on jewtube some time ago about a guy listing single player physical games that are no longer possible to be played via CD.

Of course you own it, you bought it. The license is tied to your social security number. Not just games, but any digital product such as movies, applications etc.

If you only rented something digitally, the maximum price would be something like $5 tops for a brand new game with all the DLC included. You don't rent something digitally for full price.

You own the game but not the code, assets, soundtrack, or visual graphics.

How does that work? I dunno, but once I buy a disc I can do whatever I want with it until it's either broken, lost, or stolen.

This is actually not true. In fact, this would give you more rights than a physical version of the game would, as having a license means you are entitled to the game at just about any time, anywhere, in perpetuity.

I never understood why retards are all, "but you don't own the game you own a license!" as if that means I have fewer rights or something. It means I have even more ownership and property rights than before you fucking retards.

>How does that work?
You own a book, but whats in the book is yours, so you own a copy. Really owning it means you are allowed to make copies and sell them as your own work.
Physical games indeed work the same. You own the right to play it, but you also have the right to sell that right.
Thats the big difference.
And with video games(older ones) you also have the right to keep it as is and not changed by updates etc

I don't know why people make it so difficult, you own a copy of the game, that's it, it's like owning a copy of a book, you can read it or resell it, but you can't make copies and sell it, or claim the writing is yours. It's not that difficult.
Or you own a copy of the game, or you bought a licence to use the software in perpetuity or monthly. You never own assets, Intellectual property or code that would be ridiculous

Owning allways meat you own a copy of the game, just because you bought a cartridge from Nintendo now you own Mario and can make games with that intellectual property

This is only a problem on "Someone else's PC" aka consoles, where you have no control over what the computer does.
>>715141213
>>715142671
Actually addressing the main problem would mean stripping away the vast excesses of copyright and there is massive inertia against that, because no only are there massive, international legal lobbies to blockade that, but nearly all politicians are in the pocket of Big Law in one way or another.
At the very least, we would have to roll back the DMCA (and the prohibitions against messing with DRM), which by now is a massive tool for censorship employed by countless corporations.

SKG is a seperate issue from EULA abuse.
EULA's are completely full of shit anyway, full of things that are unenforcible by law. Literally the only reason corpos get away with it, is because they know getting sued for it is unlikely. A) because they know customers are lazy, and B) they try to scare the ones who aren't lazy with "binding arbitration agreements".
