I have 5 PC setups and the family wants to find a game they can all play together (ages 7 and up, and parents). I setup a minecraft server and everyone seems to be having fun. Is Minecraft the only game that fits the bill (no pozzed garbage, involves some thinking/planning/challenge for children (ie not “roblox” where they just gotta tap the bright shiny gems), but still easy enough that a 7 year old can do the things)
(bonus points if you can self-host a server)

They already have a switch and those games. I guess I shouldve clarified “PC games”, and games with continuity where you can pickup where you left off. Minecraft is a new gaming experience to them compared to the switch because of these features (constantly live server, can play with all family, work together on tasks / goals etc)

I never played minecraft until this setup where I play with them. They are too small to play the classic greats like Earthbound or Super Metroid where they will just get stuck every 5 minutes.
