Let's talk about these fascinating little creatures, everybody loves 'em, what's your favorite Worms game? What memorable moments have you had with them?

Never played after Armageddon but apparently they got good after the 3d shit.
I was always the only skilled one at Worms so all my memories are going easy on friends.

I always just kinda played what I could get my hands on. As such the Worms title I have the most nostalgia for is Open warfare 2 on the DS. I also remember play Hedgewars

I still enjoy Worms 3D (not Ultimate Mayhem) on the Gamecube, I wish they tried making one again.

Covid really spoiled us, it was the truly the golden days for comfy gaming. Especially with all the anons learning the deeper parts of the gameplay rather than 'play on meme map, shoot whatever is closest', which I still enjoy I admit.

Open Warfare 2 for the DS and 4 Mayhem for the PS2 are my favourites, but I love all Worms games. Battlegrounds on Xbone was a lot of fun with friends too.

I tried playing it to beat the campaign and maybe get all the achievements (if that's even possible still, online is probably dead as hell), and I really disliked it, the game physics are slightly better than Reloaded but they are still so idk "sticky and heavy", the UI also sucks ass and the controls also feel extremely laggy.

The crafting and vehicles are also pretty boring as an addition. It's still worms so you can get some enjoyment out of it

How hard is it to just make a new Worms game where they keep the fucking physics like they were in Armageddon? The 3D games and that new 2D one are terrible.

It's insane that this series hasn't evolved past its third iteration.

Ya know, I would have been right with when I last played worms. Armageddon only has more now due to updates. On release, WP had all of Armageddon's content and features.

Maybe if you played WWP for 3 years before it stopped getting updated while WA still and continued to. But it's a common misconception, like saying Smash Brawl is better than Melee because it's new.

I stopped playing it a year after it released, so yeah. Didn't know they kept updating Armageddon for years after. Also found WP to be more stable than Arma at the time too.

all I want is a version of worms armageddon where you can't push worms off cliffs using the rope without using up your turn so the entire map design has to be remade around preventing someone from killing your whole team round 1. the rope itself is good just do something about rope knocking.

I wish they would give 3D worms another try

I still remember how hype it was when I first played worms 3d at a friend's house, it was kind of cool how you could actually go into castles and stuff and freely destroy everyhting in 3D

interesting how in DK Bananza this kind of freeform destruction is presented like some next gen mechanic

that kind of thing has been presented like that for like a decade and a half, despite how little it's been done it has been done in very old games
and it's because it requires masterwork-tier coding abilities to function properly rather than just better tech
