I don't think Koizumi's involved with games directly anymore, he's probably general producer, managing producers and telling them to produce a 3D Donkey Kong for instance.

If Nintendo was based they would call it Super Mario Odyssey 2: Donkey Kong Bananza like with Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and get somebody upset like how people get upset that there is no actual sequel to the shittiest 2d mario game (mario world) and instead an actually good unrelated game took its name

Dude they literally used the same moons in every world. Even the sphinx from the sand kingdom is re-used in every level no matter how out of place he is. The T-Rex even got milked. It’s the perfect example of how to make a great game feel watered down by the end.

That was only on the localization, Yoshi's Island had nothing to do with Mario World in japan and was called Super Mario: Yoshi Island.
And ironically in japan Super Mario World was called Super Mario World: Super Mario Brothers 4.
