How do I convince my mom to let me hook up my old PS3 to the living room tv so I can play Oblivion on the couch? The tv has way better colors than my shitty monitor and playing the game on a couch is just delighful.

Even though I sit in my room all day, I play games only for a couple of hours (less than a runtime of a movie) so it's not like I'll be there 24/7. But she still says I can watch movies at best but no games.

How do I convince her? I'm tired of sitting in my room all summer and want to change the environment a little bit.

If you respectfully explain this to her in a calm manner and she still declines without a reasonable explanation, then tell her that she's being unreasonable. If this doesn't work, do it when she isn't home; she will not have authority over your life forever and she should be encouraging good behavior like getting out of your room in order to help encourage you to make your own decisions in life.
