well in theory i obviously agree since i mentioned the joycon idea. but in practice, your only way of doing that right now would be literally just holding a controller with one hand, which would obviously suck because controllers aren't designed to be held that way.
also on a practical level i think most games would struggle to be registered two different input methods at the same time, since devs never account for that

I think the button distribution is more of an inconvenience than holding a controller in one hand. They aren't that heavy or big. Mapping the buttons right is the only hurdle. I only tried this on Dolphin and SRB2 and got it working, so it is possible.

Hoping for the day B3313 gets widescreen and online support. Preferably online would have to work where one person must host and others can join, otherwise you'll end up having safe space hug boxes similar to Yume Nikki/2kki online.
Exploring B3313 with /v/ was a wonderful time. Wish I sunk more hours into it but my brain doesn't like investing a lot of time into one game without completing it 100%.

why would i ever want to do that when mouse control gives me the same amount of control, and is actually enjoyable? i can just as easily move in any direction by moving the mouse where i want him to go and pressing W.
i've never had a moment with mouse controls where i thought my inability to slightly move up right without shifting the camera that direction was causing a problem, but i can recount plenty of times the camera has fucked me with a controller.

that's why mario 64 doesn't use a free cam. both the original and modded camera that romhacks uses are made with c buttons in mind and not a joystick. for modern hacks all of the level geometry is designed with the 45 (i think) degree axes of the camera in mind, but you can also center it behind you and make fine adjustments with the d-pad for certain jumps
keyboard does have some strengths over stick but most players, especially at the casual level, benefit from the stick

does anyone actually game with a mouse+joystick? is it easy to get used to? I have trouble wrapping my head around the idea
