I think my problem was besides getting horrible team mates, was I couldn't stick to one role and champ. I can't, I won't. Having to play Sion every game is already annoying and funny enough, I usually dominate the match as Sion. I just hate doing it because it gets so fucking boring.

I've been playing since Season 1. I'm an oldfag boomer yeah, back in the days of HotShotGGs Nidalee, SaintVicious in the jungle and TheOddOne.

I would say the game is currently the worst it's ever been. They essentially tried to shorten the length of the game by upping the damage and creating insane items. It's not unusual now to be one shotted by a support Lux who is 0/6 and 3 levels down but can still combo you. The game hardly feels like a strategy game anymore. It's also way harder to solo carry than it used to be. The days of 1v5ing people on Trynd are pretty much over.

I'm just a platinum shitter so I was never good at the game. The only reason I play it is because my friends still and I do enjoy ARAMs and whatnot. But I miss the old days when everything was much slower and methodical.

Remember how we used to call Lee Sin ward dashes an "Insec"? Named after the guy who was really good at him? Well now doing an Insec is basically bronze tier stuff.

I don't know about LoL specifically but plenty of games have a matchmaking system that sets you up with a wide spread of variously skilled players to try to make the match 'fair'. Games like world of tanks have done this for over a decade and are so well recorded that there are mods you can download to give you an accurate win percentage for the match you're in. It's to prevent one side being super stacked with high skilled players vs low skill players which would make it a shit stomp.

It IS entirely designed around providing as little information as possible to trick players into thinking about the wrong things in the match-up. This incentivizes people to continue playing a rigged system while being none the wiser.
