MGS4 flaw sits with making the OG Fox unit the creators of the Patriots, all the build up from MGS2 down the drain. I honestly would attribute it more to MGS3 than MGS4. Notice how every prequel character became a big thing in the future, Clark became that cyborged Gray Fox and did the Les Enfants Terrible, SIGINT became the DARPA Chief, Ocelot turned into an anti-villain (he was a straight up villain in MGS1 and MGS2, got retconned in MGS3).

And you know what? MGS3 also retconned Big Boss.
It's time to accept that in the original vision, BB was a motherfucker that Solid Snake tried to break away from, he was not even his son in the OG MGs, him being his son, and a clone was a MGS1 thing.

So many retcons, honestly MGS4 at least put most of the things to bed. That is what I like about MGS4.
Yes, there was some fanservice, but in MGS2 I wondered why Natasha and Mei Ling were missing, they were part of Philantrophy in the background but they did not participate in the tanker chapter nor the plant chapter.
