Video games are are much better entertainment medium than TV shows or anime, and it's not even close. Convince me otherwise.

I was about to say "do you know where you are" but then I remembered /v/ hates video games.

You can't talk with your coworkers about videogames.

by that logic, sports is better than all of that combined

i agree, but i think there are many things games can't do, that movies etc can do better.
having a focused story is one.
actually being accessible to everyone is another.
not having to run you through a tutorial so you know what's going on is another.

The game industry is where people who failed in other industries come, because the standards are much lower here.

Sports and video games are the top dogs. Passive media is dogshit and a waste of time. Also watching sports instead of playing them is like watching video games instead of playing them.

It's more engaging and interactive at the very least. Beats just watching like a lump.

No shit.
Tho, I read as much as I game.

General acting is still leagues ahead of video game acting. No matter how "immersive" you make your game, the acting will always hold it back.

The only better activity is actual creativity. You can get some of that in video games and none of it in passive media.

I can kind of see it for tv because quality is so unevenly dispersed, 100 pieces of trash filler for every show worth watching.

Movies and tv are jewish propaganda tailormade for npc normies. And I find that I don't enjoy even some of my favorite movies as much as any solid 8/10 game.

Isn't that true for every type of media?

Dopamine hits from games are like women and promiscuity; instead of feeling satisfied in moderation, you chase the high and never get that feeling, but keep trying over and over in an endless cycle of no fulfillment.

TV and Anime do not deliver these dopamine hits, are not contingent on fostering these hits, and conclude without baiting you into chasing more of these hits through a reward system.

Social media works the same way.

you're on the fucking videogames board god I hate you attention seeking faggots so much
Anonymous No.715226134 [Report]
video games haven't even begun to explore their full narrative potential yet. there's way too much ludonarrative dissonance in modern games, they dont even try to connect the gameplay to the story or it's themes in any way. there are some games that try to push the medium, like Braid, papers please, far cry 2... but again, very rare phenomenon

Not always. Some games suck ass and only seek to deprive you of your money.
