i envy that you picked it up at this late stage, as Pocketpair put alot of extra effort into the early+mid game to fill it out, which i never got to experience (im not the type to start over, i like my progress and don't want to do fresh).

That being said, UE5 is fucking aids and dogshit. Flying around on my Jetragon, the games on a 990 Samsung pro gen 4 m.2, a 9950x3d, and the obscene amount of texture and asset pop-in when im flying around is just hideously immersion-breaking. Worst mainstream engine ever.

Helldivers 2 engine (the meme-tracing-free lighting, terrain interaction and movement systems are 10/10) and Planetside 2-era Frostbite are/were the best gaming engines imo.

the progression system is VERY satisfying, huge amounts of unlocks.

Defeating and enslaving cute monsters that fight for you, but also work on your base and do all your chores for you is a drug-high you wont forget, i can see why the cartels love enslaving people. I normally get bored of survival crafting games fairly quickly, but Palworld? i got 400 hours in it. Love it.

Started playing again after a break. Since then, they did the Feybreak and Tides of Terraria updates. Overall I like how it's improved, and they did some nice things like adding quests and bounties.
Only real annoyance is the Zoe takes up the Pal slot when you recruit her. I thought she would be an ally like another player. Instead it ended up like the glitch you could use to capture her earlier in the game's development. Ah well, It's still a welcome addition. I hope we can recruit the other bosses in the future.

engine updates, AI pathing and targeting needs an additional enormous improvement. Also the base animations need work, the animations themselves are okay, its that the pals never directly TOUCH anything they're interacting with. Its lazy modelling and animations, hell, 90% of the time when you click on the Pet emote, you don't actually touch the pal itself.

-An ancient tech device that lets you make base pals smaller. Theres a mod for it but it doesnt remember its settings.
-Make the ranch a separate pal limit from the base but you have to keep it stocked with specific food (like hay or some shit) that you have to grow.
-An early game way to make bases share resources. Perhaps a "landing zone" building that requires a flying pal with transport 2 or higher at each location.
-Make the pal AI stop walking around like a fuck when they have nothing but 2s cooldown abilities. They should never stop machine gunning that shit out (except for the backstep they do thats ok)
-If resources allow, make more maps to spice things up. maybe add underwater content
