What game do you believe has the record for the single highest amount of plot holes in its story?

I miss when /v/ had interesting analysis like this. Now it's just thread spamming, porn, and idpol.

Legitimately, though. Starting with TBC, it was like Blizzard was in a competition with themselves with how many plotholes they could fit into the story with them reaching their high score with the Jailer, who retroactively made everything in the entire story and all the lore nothing but one big plothole.

You can at least give TBC the excuse that Blizzard didn't expect WoW's popularity, nor could they anticipate that TBC would get a follow-up, so they just vomited tons of notable characters into the expansion so players could see them, even if it did big narrative damage. Here's Kael'thas! And Illidan! And the naga! And Outland! And Ethereals!
Jailer on the other hand has no excuse

That statement is closer to real analysis than obsessing over plot minutia.

OP's pic isn't nitpicking, it's plot details that need to be addressed in order for the story it's trying to tell to be believable.

This one's pretty weak. The twins only care about making things right/getting back at Comstock a little bit, they're more interested in observing how the situation plays out every time as they make small changes, which is why they tally what option Booker chooses and all that, it's all an experiment to them and they're pretty amoral people so they don't really care if they're ruining Booker's life (he was a deadbeat alcoholic so there wasn't much to ruin anyway). Elizabeth is a timelord because her pinky got cut off by the portal when they kidnapped her as a baby so technically she exists on two realities simultaneously, this causes time and space to glitch out around her and with time she learns to control these glitches to open portals to wherever she wants. The zeppelins were super technologically advanced since the entire point of the floating city and Elizabeth is that they have far future technology thanks to her being able to open portals to the future and steal technology from it. Nearly every other point is because it looks cool, because the gameplay demands it, or because of budget constraints, might as well also complain about people being murdered in JRPGs while you have 99 phoenix downs in your pocket.

>plot holes
I've erased this cocncept from my mind after watching anime.
Nips are genuinely lobotomized. They can't understnd what the word "consistency" means on conceptual level.
It's as if they write a premise to the story, then immediately start writing new premise, without finishing what they fucking started.

because those games are the only games worth playing anymore if we don't include playing older games. if you want to blame anyone, blame studios and publishers for pushing passionate developers away to cater to people who hate video games.

I try not to get too caught up in minutia since my only did it make me miserable but it also ruins enjoyment of any form of media when I spend the whole time trying to be Cinemasins. So long as the central premise isn't broken and the plot can survive at least 2 layers of scrutiny, I can forgive some minor plot holes.

Other M is uniquely terrible since it's fractally wrong

Yes

For myself, I like picking apart games to understand why I like them or dislike them. And part of that is looking at other people's perspectives
