because every time devs concede ground to people that require placation, the list of arbitrary shit that must be in every game increases. vitiligo sliders, pronouns, body types, arachnaphobia, photo modes, etc. the list keeps growing and every single step of the way has enablers and apologists like you hyper-fixated on the most recent point like this shit happens in a vacuum or isn't part of a much larger trend that increases the costs and production times and courts the worst possible people as customers (and developers) across the whole industry in exchange zero practical value.
