It's still boring and time passing in a linear fashion didn't help

when I played it at first I thought that the elemental dangers and broken legs were awesome mechanic but a little underused.

Then I found out Todd wanted it to play a much much bigger role at first but they decided to scrap it because the game revolved too much around it. So now we are left with empty planets that arent even dangerous. You dont need to invest in equipment. You dont need to do anything

HOW IS THE COMBAT SO BAD?

seriously, FEAR from 2005 had vastly superior combat

You expect good combat from Bethesda games? Best you'll get is bullet sponges and shit perk trees with mild damage increases

Thought the gimmick where new game plus slightly changes the setting is neat but not enough to replay the game again

Yeah, it magically didn't get better in 2 years. I was told it was going to be fallout in space, which is what I thought I wanted, but it was just a single fallout game, with skyrim dragonshouts, spread out over 100 games worth of area. Doesn't help that the corporation faction, the only fun one, bugged out for me and I couldn't progress it.
A half-baked project that was too derivative of their former works, and more sadly, completely inferior to said works. Stay in your lane, Toddy boy.

Starfield is not a build based game. You want a build based game, play Underrail or Fallout 1, 2, Planescape Torment, whatever. Not Bethslop.

Everyone on v says mods make Bethesda games what they are.
Bethesda creates a perfect blank slate for modders to show off their creativity.
They did.

So glad Starfield killed the "Mods will fix it" meme.

Apparently not many people want to play your idea of a build based game.
Spreadsheet gaming went out with the 90s.

I played about 2-3 hours of it. I spent that time landing on planets I know would be identical to planets I'd be landing on 50 hours later, shooting space bandits that I know I would still be shooting at 50 hours later, to get random loot which will be near identical to loot I would get 50 hours later just with a bigger number but making no actual difference to combat due to level scaling and unlocking perks that weren't making any appreciable difference to how the game was played. I realised at that point there was nothing more to see so I uninstalled it.

Bethesda can hardly be blamed for modders lack of creativity.
They created a blank slate and gave them the tools. Modders promptly nailed their foot to the floor and then quit.
Conclusively busted that myth.

I think there was a wave of negativity towards Starfield in the gaming community that uninspired a lot of people. Fallout 4 is a bad game, but it has a lot of mods. I feel like Starfield released on the cusp of everyone shitting themselves over woke, DEI, hot girls, etc.

>so for example you land on xebes-777 and you get a small square of random terrain to explore in, and in that square General Atomics Factory, Cambridge Polymer Labs, and Vault 114 spawns in
>with how many planets you're proposing, and the fact that landing on the same planet twice will spawn two squares, we're going to need a metric ton of unique locations otherwise players will quickly end up finding the same ones over and over

There is no RPG. You get guns and the number goes up. Skills lol also number goes up.
Very quickly you hit a point where you number is bigger than the balancing can handle.
