Spec into intrigue and murder and kidnap any rivals. Also go down the tree to get as much dread as possible. Dread will basically stop all problems until you die and your heir takes over, so make sure they also go into intrigue. Once you learn how things work you can branch out and do other things than intrigue.

Semi-ok. Usurping titles is more expensive than forming them yourself. But usurping can give you artifacts and overcoming the non de jure penalty might be worth the extra cost anyway.

The best early money making strategy doesn't involve building up your realm at all. A big part of your early game economy when you are small is from farming blackmail, begging the pope for free gibs, ransoming prisoner, and you can gather huge amount of money by doing grand tour if you are a king or a duke with decently sizable realm.
