Challenge? Nonexistent, and we'll lock you to the lowest difficulty your first run even though the hardest mode is still a breeze

Bullet time balanced and useful? Hell no, it basically never runs out but feels shit to use

Shitty motion blur out the ass and pointless bullet-time animations like spinning around like a gay ballerina? You betcha

Making a random generic whore who tried to kill Max the focal point of the sequel? Of course

Max acting like both a pathetic simp loser and a helpless fucking puppy? You know it

Almost zero interactive elements across levels? Absolutely

Variety of enemy types? How does two enemy types copy pasted hundreds of times sound?

What a fucking disappointment, the whole thing is just so phoned in and low effort, no wonder it sold like shit and tanked the series.

1 > 3 >>>>> 2

>the entire plot of the game is literally just "corporation from last game is super duper mad at you and they are also omniscient and omnipotent and are just going to send hundreds of faceless goons literally anywhere you go!!! XD"
It's almost sad how lazy and pathetic the sequel is.

The sniping part with Mona, I don't think my eyes could roll back any further in my head that a trained killer is reduced to a little helpless puppy dog begging Mona for help and crying about how he'd be dead without her shooting a couple guys from above.

What? He's just a cop with above average higher bodycount, Mona is the literal professional killer.

Remedy either never got why the first was good or could just never recreate the unique set of circumstances, limitations, and passion that led to the first game which is why they've only churned out slop since then.

Max Payne 3 was actually really good, especially in terms of gameplay, attention to detail, and challenge. The main issue was the constant cutscene interruptions, but there's a mod for that.

>I've killed 600 enemies up to this point but these 5 enemies are too much for me AIIIIEEEEEEE SAVE ME MONA!!!!!
Escort missions are already shit but seeing this hardened badass reduced to a whimpering cuck that also totally forgets how to use painkillers almost made me turn off the game.

Especially since in the first game he was just some guy, and the mafia goons actually downplay him and mock him, whereas everyone in the sequel cowers in fear at Payne's name.

Honestly everything about Max Payne 2 is so contrived and they killed his personaity. The plot boiling down to an endless stream of monster-closet goons just popping up everywhere they go was just so fucking corny and lazy.

OP, it does feel like little more than a DLC of the first game and why I think MP3 is better while MP1 will always be a masterpiece!!!FACT!!!

I know contrarian fucksticks will say otherwise but MP3 is a great game and one of the main reasons is that, unlike 2, they take him out of his comfort zone, put him into a new environment with new issues that he has to deal with and is more or less completely different than the first two with a slight bit of character development while the ending is perfect with Max having made peace with himself and his fate left ambiguous.

It's like how I feel about the Die Hard movies where each film is just another group of terrorists, although I do love DH2 for its scale and scope which is what MP3 has in abundance.

But I will admit that it was nice that they gave us some old school MP set in NY showing how he ended up in south America.

Speaking of which, why the fuck didn't they do a remake of 1 for its 20th anniversary or announce one for its 25th next year when there's no reason not to unless they don't like making money!?!FACT!!!

That's 2, which is the best ending of the trilogy by miles. 3 had to make him miserable again just to have the same conclusion but with a cheaper execution.
Oh, and the remake is in full production, I expect an official announcement at Game Awards this year.
