I remember a lot of goals in 4 like that that aren't "ackshually" COMBO letters but require you to be in a combo anyway to freeze the timer at 0:00.

This is a horrible era of gaming. I would liken modern iterative sequels to episodes of a television show, you wait 5 years for a game that looks and feels exactly like the previous one. Whereas iterative sequels in the past managed to feel like a new thing, more like sequels to a movie.
COD was the big thing to clown on in the past but MW2 and Black Ops are very clearly distinct games. There's no ambition to these new iterative products they just do the absolute bare minimum

After you beat all of 3+4 goals it unlocks 'Pro Goals' for both of the games, which is like 5 more goals per level including most of the rest of 4's goals.
