i think so. went back to play the original recently and forgot how annoying it was to play with the RPG elements and getting juggled for all your health, or having enemies straight up kill you in two hits. something that plays more like a traditional beat em up would be nice. no way the soundtrack is as good in the new one though.

Its not bad if you don't mind replaying levels over and over again to remedy the powercreep each stage introduces, but for those just wanting to do something more traditional, it can be infuriating how rough normal enemies are. Bosses were cool though as once you learned their patterns, you could fight them even without the boosts, assuming you could get through the stage.
