I started playing it for the first time 2 days ago and I disagree, I'm really enjoying it and I'd rate it a solid 9/10 so far considering the date of release

The only good thing about SA2 is introduction of Shadow and the music. Pretty much everything else is awful and outdated (And I don't consider good retro games outdated btw)

NTA, but I played it for the first time last year (along with Adventure 1), and yeah, I'd say it's at least an 8/10 and is far better than Adventure 1.
It aged surprisingly well, to the point I kinda felt going back to Generations felt a lot more clunkier by comparison.
The only thing that brings it down is the fact that Vanilla Tails and Eggman's gameplay is dogshit (mods fix it pretty well and make it decently fun, although I wish it had more depth), the minigames are ass and some of the last levels are pretty shit.
What's funny is, the game I actually was nostalgic for (Heroes) turned out to have aged absolutely poorly, and it went from my favorite to probably a game that I dread to ever have to replay ever again (barring on a completed save file).

Adventure 1 is serviceable for a first time playthrough, but once you replay it, the flaws become very apparent. Which sucks, you can clearly tell the game was reworked multiple times in development.

Sonic Adventure 1 is better than Sonic Adventure 2 (Gamecube versions of both are inferior), but Sonic Adventure 1 and Sonic Adventure 2 are the last two actual 3D sonic games. Fuck boost Sonic and whatever Frontiers is.
